Google has just announced in the Android Developers Blog that there will be a next upcoming maintenance release or update for Android Nougat and it is version 7.1.2.
The update will focus on refinements, it includes a number of bugfixes and optimizations, along with a small number of enhancements for carriers and users as per Dave Burke, VP of Engineering (Android), Google.
The first adopters of the said update will those that are enrolled with Android Beta Program and with the eligible devices. The public beta automatically update over-the-air (OTA) in a few days and no user action is needed or you can also download and manually flash the update through your device.
The final release of the Android 7.1.2 will come in a couple of months. Eligible devices for the first update includes Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, and Pixel C devices.
