Last April 22, 2016 (Friday) Sharp Philippines has officially launched the newest and best AQUOS TV lineup – the first 4K TV with 8K Resolution, names as the Sharp AQUOS XU Series (LC-80XU930X / LC-70XU830X). The AQUOS XU Series received one of CES 2015 Innovation Award Honorees. AQUOS XU Series boasts its 33.18 million pixels (7680 x 4320 pixels) across the whole display.
So what's behind the pixel technology? Well, this is very exciting, the Sharp AQUOS XU Series achieves 8K Resolution on a 4K Ultra HD panel by combining Sharp’s proprietary Quattron Pro 4-Color Technology and its newest upscaling circuit, the X8-Master Engine Pro. Both work together to achieve resolution equivalent to 8K by upscaling Full HD and 4K UHD content. The result: true-to-life detail, the most vivid color expression, and deepest contrast. You would really enjoy the very vivid and sharp display, you cannot see any pixels (given the video playing is HD/4K resolution too).
Other features aside of offering one of the high-res displays on 4K TVs is that the XU Series displays more colors than the conventional TVs out in the market right now. It has a Rich Color Pro Technology which enhances the power of the 4-Color Technology which has a new back-light that expands its color reproduction by 40%. One thing they said in the event, it includes yellow led lights to enhance the color reproduction of the TV.

One of the greatest features aside from its very high-resolution display is that it is already powered by Android TV out-of-the-box. As for we know, Android OS is now common nowadays, it's very cool and convenient having this platform in the TV built-in. So a big plus for Sharp for partnering with Google for this TV release. The TV comes with a Smart Remote that has a Google Voice search, you can stream a lot of TV shows and movies, listen to music, play videos via YouTube or Netflix, the possibilities of integrating any content is almost endless with the Android platform. Google Cast is also built-in so you can cast/mirror your content directly from your mobile/tablet devices directly to your Sharp AQUOS XU Series TV. What a great convenience and full of entertainment built-in in a TV.
