The unique conversion technology of the PHANTOM–S allows you to play PS4, PS3, XBOX 360, and XBOX One games with a wireless or wired keyboard and mouse. Build & Design
The ATEN Phantom-S is made from aluminum and not just any typical plastic build of devices. Although the very good quality of its exterior material should not be your focus when gaming, ATEN made it sure that you’ll have good and durable device.
The bottom portion contains the USB slots where the gamepad, keyboard and mouse should be in place.
The top portion has the mini-USB slots for connecting the Phantom-S into the gaming console, power or in a PC.
How to use it?
Here is the very exciting part of the review process, trying out the product on hand. So we have used a PlayStation 3 (PS3) here, along with the hit game "The Last of Us". We have also used a keyboard and a mouse in this setup, also the ATEN Phantom-S (plug-and-play) and the console controller as you will see in the below images.
Before playing you need to setup like in the example below, the ATEN Phantom-S is connected to the PS3 (only the console cable is connected), you need to connect the keyboard, mouse and the gamepad to the Phantom-S as well via USB. The gamepad is required to be connected to the Phantom-S to work, wired controllers (or connect the wire) are preferred as wireless will not work.

Below is the sample demo of the working Phantom-S into the PS3 using the keyboard and mouse as a controller. It's like using a PC in this setup but it's a gaming console. Using the keyboard & mouse via Phantom-S is smooth to control the character (Joel) and you can adjust the settings like the camera rotation and others that you think that is needed to be adjusted. Aiming using the console is sure hard in The Last of Us, especially when you have a little ammo in the game, defeating strong zombies will be very difficult when you have wasted your bullets, but with the Phantom-S it's easy to point and shoot the zombies as you can drag your mouse and click along with some controls needed with the keyboard and *BAM!* you can easily hit your target. See it's very easy to use as it is plug-and-play, no more additional setup to use.
There are some keyboard shortcuts that are assigned to each key from the controller that can be read in the user manual, be sure to check it out first before playing. Below is a video demo of how it is easy to play with the ATEN Phantom-S.

I really liked it. I’ve been using it especially to FPS games (or even other games) and missed playing games using keyboard & mouse but the difference is that I can use it in a gaming console now. It can give the best of both worlds where you can use it with your gaming console and personal computer. At the end of the day all we want is to enjoy and have fun with the games we play.
