Google finally showcased the new Android "M" in their annual Google I/O that made everyone excited again for the next chapter of the number 1 mobile operating system.
Android M Features |
Now, what to expect?
Based on what they mentioned at Google I/O the next version of Android will be faster, better and more secured. We know that and it should always be that way. The more interesting part is Google Photos will now support unlimited photo storage as long as they don't go over 16 MP and 1080p videos! Aside from that Google Now is now improved, Chrome will be faster an will have that Chrome Custom tabs for better overall browsing experience, Android Pay, Fingerprint support and Doze that will make your phone go to sleep if it didn't detect any usage.
What will be it's name?
Now this is the tricky and interesting part! Google loves surprises and they love sweets too! So I'm sure that it will be a sweet surprise! As of the moment, I'm speculating that it will be another popular candy. Here's what we gathered for our guesses: M&M'S, Maltesers, Milky Way, Moon Pie, Milkshake, Moose and Mentos. :)
The developer preview
If you're a developer and wanted to test this new version of Android, the developer version preview is now available for download. Those devices are the: Nexus 6, Nexus 9, and Nexus Player.
I know most of those who don't have those devices won't be able to test the dev preview which will lead us to watch out for the final version which will be released on the 3rd quarter of 2015!
