The Meizu M1 Note and much anticipated and upcoming Alcatel Flash Plus is arguably 2 of the most value packed smartphones under 8,000 pesos. Earlier this week, Firefly Mobile decided to join the party as they introduced the interesting Firefly Mobile Intense 64 LTE that should be the most powerful local branded phone under PHP 8K.

On paper the Firefly Mobile Intense 64 LTE lags behind the Flash Plus and M1 Note when it comes to their 64 bit octa core processors. Please make no mistake of that, the 64 Bit quad core processor of the Intense 64 LTE is still more powerful than most budget 32 bit octa core processors of MediaTek which makes the Firefly flagship still a good heavy computing machine. The Intense 64 LTE may also have the most powerful front facing camera but it also have the smallest battery capacity at just 2,800 mAh. When it comes to the display, the M1 Note may have the best at as it uses an FHD display with higher pixel density compared to the smaller HD display of Flash Plus and Intense 64 LTE.
Personally, I think that the Flash Plus has the best value as it is also the cheapest at just PHP 6,490. However, it is still not yet here and the 2 other devices are also outstanding under 8,000 pesos.
Hopefully we'll see more competition at this price point in the coming months. I'm sure that the battle for the best smartphone under 8K will continue to heat up soon. For now who's your bet?
