Earth hour 2015 |
Earth Hour, now on its sixth year, continues the awareness campaign of our planet's current (depleting) state and the call for everyone to do their part in saving our planet by lessening our carbon footprints, conserving water, using of renewable energies, proper disposal of waste and perhaps changing our lifestyle -- beneficial to our environment.
Change Climate Change is this year's battle cry. Makati City responded to this call by initiating an Earth Hour activity tonight at Ayala Triangle, Ayala Ave., Makati City.
Ethel Villanoy (VP, Marketing and Corporate Relations of WWF) one of the guest speakers, encourages us to turn these advocacies into actions.
Speakers from Ayala and Nestle corporations gladly reports that they are effectively channeling good environmental practices to their employees and focuses on the essence of water as it comprises about 75% or so of our bodies and the earth respectively.
Lastly Danilo Villas, Department Head of Environmental Services at Makati City, reports the current dilemna and suggests effective and efficient ways and means as we go towards a sustainable city.
Aside from dance and live band performances from various artists, booths from Nestle and Manila Water and Freedom Wall were installed. To top it all, a pledge of commitment among participants completed the event.
