Yesterday, Ekophone Sage made a lot of noise in the local mobile phone scene. I personally dubbed it as the best looking local phone to date. So me and my partner in crime decided to take a visit to Ekotek Megamall to see what's the fuss all about with this great looking phone.
Note: Pardon the lighting, the phone looks amazing in person...
Meet Ekophone Sage! |
It's a gorgeous looking smartphone!
Design-wise, this phone is spectacular. As I've said before this is arguably the best looking local branded smartphone to date that also has that durable feel!
The capacitive keys |
The Ekophone Sage is probably one of the thinnest local branded phones today at just 7.6 mm. (Probably the thinnest 5.5 inches on that matter.) The build quality is tank like which is the usual Ekophone standard which can match up even with most international flagships. The matte finish at the back is a huge plus too sa you don't have to worry about scratches anymore.
The carbon fiber back |
Front camera |
Size of the phone on a small hand |
Dual speakers here! |
Check out that thinness! |
The display has surprisingly good viewing angles and the colors looks just fine and sharp too. Overall the Ekophone feels great to hold even at huge size of 5.5 inches, I can type messages at a good speed and the phone very responsive overall.

Ekophone Sage has decent power too! It can match up with most phones in its price range in terms of computing capability. The phone actually scored more than 19K via Antutu Benchmark which is several thousands higher than other Mediatek powered local branded phones with the same specifications. The worth PHP 15,990 Lenovo S860 is actually using the same MediaTek MT6582 that makes the Ekophone Sage one of the cheapest smartphone to use that processor.
As of the moment...
This phone impressed me a lot in terms of build, performance and design! I've just had a few minutes with the phone and I immediately fell in love with it. Ekophone Sage is worth all your bucks this New Year! This one is definitely on my full review target list early January. :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR GEEKS!
