The Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on Nexus 9 and Nexus 6. Other mobile manufacturers have been announcing when the update will come to their most relevant devices. Modders are probably trying to port the new Android OS to other interesting devices.
Someone from China did that and ported the Stock Android 5.0 Lollipop OS into the Xiaomi Mi2. The images were revealed by a Weibo user. We can see clearly that it really runs Google's latest OS based on the wallpaper (refer to 1st image) and the device information revealed on the 2nd image.
Well this means one thing- the stock Android 5.0 Lollipop is compatible with this handset. Although Xiaomi has not announced whether a new MIUI that's based on Android 5.0 Lollipop will be available, given that the two OS are totally different ecosystems, but I think that's pretty interesting.
