Just to share, while I was writing my title for this article, the idea of including "Sa Bandang Kanto" was so funny (well, at least for me). It's like you're being sossy and being an average joe at the same time.
My Geeky friends and I just live near the area where this gourmet style eatery (karinderya) is situated. So it's a must that we try it. I'm gonna share you our Kanto Freestyle Breakfast experience. Getting excited?
Hmmm, See the blueberry pancakes? Bet you're not only excited, but also HUNGRY now!
So this is Kanto Freestyle Breakfast... and yes it's situated at a legit "Kanto". This Kanto Freestyle Breakfast branch is exactly located at 549 San Joaquin St., Plainview Mandaluyong City. They have other branches located in Pasig, Libis and Marikina.
When we approached the order area, I was surprised that the servers greeted us "Good Morning", well in fact it's already evening. I asked them why they greeted us that way. One of them replied, "Laging morning saamin, Ma'am!" (It's always morning here, Ma'am). Cool concept right?
By the way, Kanto Freestyle Breakfast is open 24/7!

What we ordered at Kanto Freestyle Breakfast:
Spanish Sardines Benedict |
It's a fried Spanish Sardines with a twist. The breadings absorbed the sauce of the Spanish Sardines which made it very tasteful. This one is definitely a must try! :)
Vigan Longganiza |
Not really a fan of Longganisa but this one tastes good! I can recall that it almost tasted the same as the Ginubutan Albay's Longganisa, if you ever tasted one.
Honey Garlic Chicken |
The Honey Garlic Chicken is best served with sauce. I already ordered this twice. The last one was way back months ago. It's my favorite, so far! :)
Kesong Puti |
The taste of the cheese is balanced! I tried to mix it with the spanish sardines' sauce (see Spanish Sardines Benedict Photo above) and it tasted better!
Blueberry Pancakes |
For the Blueberry pancake, I love how it's garnished! (well I love how they garnish everything). The Blueberry toppings have a subtle taste - just right and not so sweet. The pancake itself tasted flat and average. Probably not for a typical Filipino's taste preference - the flavorful or "malasa".

Verdict
Overall, we enjoyed our food trip at Kanto Freestyle Breakfast. I bet it's best to eat here after you went for a jog in the morning. (loljoke). For a gourmet style, the cost of their food is cheap! You get to enjoy "gourmet goodness" for less than a hundred peso. Good deal right? Swak sa budget! You gotta try it! It's something different from your typical gourmet! :)
