The size is so small that a single 3.5mm plug from my old rean plug looks huge in comparison. JDS Labs Ultra Short IC really did something innovative with this IC.

Overall, the JDS Labs Ultra Short IC seems to be a good interconnect, it's made out of enameled copper and 24K gold plating on the 3.5mm plugs. JDS Labs Ultra Short IC is a very low profile IC that's hardly noticeable in your rig. However, the cables in between the 3.5mm plugs seems to a little thin due to its size. Just make sure to take care of it properly to avoid breaking it. With this we'll have to say goodbye to messy portable rig setups.
