LPPCHEA (Freedom Island) also familiarized as the Manila-Cavite Expressway coastal route is the home for many aerial and aquatic animals and plants. Wiki says "It contains a mangrove forest and swamps providing a habitat for many migratory bird species, including the Philippine duck, Chinese egret, common moorhen and black-crowned night heron." The need to protect the island and its reservoirs clamors as reclamation bids to end its life.
Today, October 11, 2014 Earthday Jam Foundation sets again an Environmental awareness Campaign at Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat Eco Tourism Area with Clean-up and Tree Planting Activities dubbed as "Tara Na! Sa Freedom Island.. Tara Na! sa LPPCHEA."
T'is an open-invitation including but not limited to environmental-driven organizations (local / international), government agencies/operations, and nearby residents. Anyone who would like to volunteer can come. Please come in your comfortable volunteer attire and take the necessary personal needs as to possible sudden change in weather, sun-screen lotion, medicines, etc.
