Manny V. Pangilinan , Smart Communications Chairman, announced today that the company now offers FREE mobile internet for all prepaid subscribers of Smart, Talk N' Text and Sun Cellular.
This offering is available across all platforms including 2G, 3G and LTE phones. Each user has an Internet usage limit of 30mb per day. Upon reaching this limit, the subscriber will encounter a pay wall or "safe zone" where they will be given an option to continue using the service by availing any of Smart's load option.
According to Manny Pangilinan, “We are launching this initiative to provide a much larger number of Filipinos the opportunity to try out and experience the Internet, enjoy its benefits and, as we at Smart like to say, live more. This special offer is specifically designed to assist our prepaid subscribers who make up the bulk of our population. Many of them already have the mobile devices capable of accessing the internet but have yet to use them to go online. In this way, Smart can effectively promote digital inclusion and spread the benefits of the Internet in the fastest and most effective way possible,” he added.
To avail of the free Internet offer, the subscribers must send "FREE" to 9999. Make sure that you have at least Php 1.00 balance or must be subscribed to any promo. Registration must be renewed everyday.
The free Internet service is not inclusive of video downloads and peer-to-peer sharing like BitTorrent and VOIP. The FREE mobile offering will be initially available starting today, September 26, 2014 until November 30, 2014. The company will then assess if they will continue this offering.
