Francinn Hubag's Badjao Rebolution with the battle cry "Tayo ay Kabataan Ang Bagong Katipunan!" was made possible in cooperation with Department of Humanities, University of the Philippines, Los Baños. With Major Sponsors namely: ICI Ministries, Kenny Rogers Roasters (Sta. Lucia), Bioessence Slimzone, Senator Ferdinand 'Bong Bong' Marcos, Jr., Senator Manuel 'Lito' Lapid, GSP and Friends Foundation, AY Foundation, Inc., Miracle Church of the Nazarene and Media Partners: Wazzup Pilipinas and When In Manila.
A community theatre/musical play aims to tackle the migration of *Badjao to Taytay, Rizal--the second largest Municipality (next to Cainta, Rizal) in terms of population in the Philippines; the sudden heavy traffic that arises at Kaytikling, Taytay Rizal; the action of the Municipality Officials and the underlying social issues. Perhaps, War, Poverty and Hunger, Unemployment of Parents, Human Trafficking, Juvenile Delinquency are supposed initial suspects in our story.
More than addressing the aforementioned issues above, the main driven advocacies of the musical play are to inspire the children of our community to be more creative and imaginative, to dream and aim higher, to re/visit and re/live childhood not bounded by the so-called "mature-faster society." The message attempts to lessen underdeveloped childhood.
Childhood is a vital season of every person's life as it may greatly affect a person's personality, preference, perspectives, principles during his entire lifetime. The National Collaborating Centre for the Determinants of Health (2008b) assessed the possible factors that affects Childhood Development categorized by "Environmental (Housing, Income, Employment of Parents, Education), Biological (Gender, General Health, Mental Health, Health Practices), Interpersonal Relationships (Attachment, Parenting Styles, Social Networks), and Early Environments and Experiences."
As stated at United Nations Human Rights, Convention on the Rights of the Child (Adopted and opened for signature, ratification and accession by General Assembly resolution 44/25 of 20 November 1989 entry into force 2 September 1990, in accordance with article 49), It is protected with rights and privileges such as: "Non-discrimination (Article 2); Right to life (Article 6); Right to freedom from torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment (Article 37); Right of detained persons to be treated with dignity (Article 37); Right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion (Article 14); Right to freedom of opinion and of expression (Article 13); Right to adequate standard of living (Article 27); Right to health and health services (Article 24); Right to education (Article 28);"
In conclusion, there may be no definite formula yet nor there will never be a definite formula for the attainment of a perfect Childhood Development as language, culture, races, traditions, and religious affiliations differs, these laws mandated for Children Development can be considered as a defacto. Let's continue to be involved and invest in our younger generation. As Dr. Jose Rizal once said "The Youth are the hope of the nation."
