The .NET Framework is a technology that supports most of the next generation application in our Windows based machines, newer version of the .NET framework such as 4.5 are already available and pre-installed on Windows 8.1 but some of the windows application are still not compatible with it and will work only with versions 3.5 and below.
Geeky Tutorials |
This issue occurred to me after installing the new Windows 8.1 on my Dell Latitude.
I encountered an unlikely error in which I cannot install some of my application because I need version 3.5 of .NET. Usually .NET Frameworks are automatically installed and if they're not available you can always use Windows Update.
Unfortunately, I did not succeed with the installation of the .NET 3.5. An error prompted me that it cannot be installed. Good this is I found a great solution over the internet that I’d like to share with you. :)
SOLUTION Let's now proceed with the tutorial on how to solve this problem. Step 1 Insert your Original Windows 8.1 DVD or Bootable Flash Drive Step 2 Open PowerShell of Windows 8.1 (Start then type "PowerShell" anywhere then right click open as administrator then hit Enter)
Windows 8 New Start Search :) |
Press Run as Administrator |
The powershell |
- Note: Replace "X" with the actual letter of the Windows 8.1 Installation files.
- Note 2: Make sure that you have internet connection
- Note 3: Press Enter :)
Step 4 Wait for the installation completion and ENJOY! Cheers! :)
