Undeniably, ASUS is on a roll lately especially after they released the much talked about ZenFone 2 and they're not done yet. They seem to follow Xiaomi's act by creating accessories for their devices. One of them is the awesome ZenPower 10050 mAh Credit Card Sized Powerbank!
I'm gold and I'm silver! There are other colors too like pink, blue and black. Hopefully, they'll be available here too! |
The ZenPower is undeniably Xiaomi's look a like when it comes to build except that the ZenPower credit card sized body looks better and smaller.

Build Quality / Design
Check out that size! This photo also shows the power button, indicator and ports |
With that compact size and design, the ZenPower is undoubtedly the most gorgeously designed powerbank in this price range. To describe the ZenPower it appears to be on a same size of a credit card compared to it's bigger rivals. That could be the result of using 3 Panasonic higher quality cells against the 4 pack batteries of their competitors that can make the powerbank bulkier.
The standards shown below |
I also liked that at just 215 g, it's not as heavy like others. This ZenPower is so portable looking, the exterior is made out of well machined aluminum alloy, the plastic in the middle appears to have good quality and the product feels durable. Maybe the only con I can forsee here is this type of metal is prone to hairline scratches, but overall this is an extremely well made product.

Note: There's a solution to prevent damages to your ZenPower, the ZenPower bumper sleeves that I wish to see here in PH!
Side by side with Yoobao 10400 mAh the ZenPower is clearly more compact |
Mi 10400 and ZenPower 10050 |
With my past few days with this is such a great experience. I was able to enjoy faster charging thru my devices and quicker powerbank charging. That's because this powerbank is the first powerbank I've seen to have 2.4 A of power output. For example, I was able to full charge the ZenFone 2 for only 2 hours and 50 minutes compared to almost 3 hours and 30 mins to Mi 10400 and 3 hours and 48 mins to Yoobao 10400 mAh. It also has that 2A input which is higher than most with this battery capacity able to give charge the ZenPower for just 6 hours.
Powering the ZenFone 2! |
Maybe the only advantage of the regular 10400 mAh powerpacks here is the few extra hundreds of power storage which is not that recognizable compared to the ZenPower. So if you're a person who love to do more quickly, the ZenPower should be in your top list.
Verdict
The ZenPower is the powerbank to beat under 1000 pesos! It has that quickest charging performance for the price, great design, build, portability and extremely low pricing. While the ZenPower clearly borrowed some design pointers from Mi, ASUS managed to top them in almost every aspect.
