Earlier today, Novo 7 Tech held a mini launch of the Meizu MX4 in the Philippines! The said phone is currently one of the most powerful handsets in the world today. It is also the first one to use MediaTek 6595 which can score a monstrous over 50K in Antutu benchmark. Meizu MX4 is also one of the nicest looking phone we've seen so far and has a very interesting FlyMe OS in its skin.
The monster is here! |
Geeky Pinas is lucky to be there at the event at Gateway Mall Cubao Quezon City towitness the power of Meizu MX4. Mr. Adrian Lim did a wonderful and complete demonstration on what this superphone phone can do.
Build, Style and Display
FlyMe OS in action! |
The Meizu MX4 is a stunning looking phone, from build quality, display hold and feel. During the product demonstration Mr. Adrian Lim used a surgical knife to intentionally scratch the screen and the camera glass to show how durable the gorilla glass 3 present on the phone. Unfortunately, he failed to get even a hairline scratch. Then the body is made out of aircraft grade aluminum, so the bendgate won't be possible with the MX4 unless extreme force is applied.
Front look, check out the bezels! |
The bezels are also very thin as it manage to squeeze a 5.3 inch display on a body of a a little below 5 inches phone. That's also the case with the other good looking phones like the Lenovo Vibe X2 and LG G3. Compared to the Xiaomi MI3, the display of Meizu MX4 is clearly superior, it is brighter and has that more vibrant looking colors in it.

Backview |
Overall, the build display, hold and feel of the phone is very premium. It can definitely beat or match up most of the flagship international phones around today. The display is amazing and is probably better than most flagship phones I've seen. Based on my own personal taste, the Meizu MX4 is also one of the most stylish looking phone which can be a looker to match up with any fashion style.

Sample shots
Le me trying to take a selfie |
Le result, LOL at my eyebags :) |
Indoor not so good lighting shot: Havi B3 Pro 1 special appearance, oh by the way it sounded amazing with the Meizu MX4 even without an external amp. :) |
Trying out the camera outside the Novo 7 Store! |
The camera is equipped with a 20.7 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front front facing camera for selfie. The shutter speed is amazing, it also have a burst shot that can take up to 30 photos in a second. It's really performed well with good light, however I was not able to test it in low light conditions. Overall the shots taken from the Meizu MX4 were absolutely great where-in it can rival most flagship phones. Thanks to it's Sony optics and software optimizations by Meizu.
Antutu Benchmark
To see is to believe! |
It might not be the most powerful when it comes to gaming, but the processor is definitely one of the most powerful when it comes to computing capabilities. It scored over 50K via Antutu benchmark (the highest I've seen in person) which is almost 4K more compared to the Lenovo Vibe X2 which is using the "M" version of the MediaTek MT6595 due to higher clock speed of the processor.
FlyMe OS Lock Gestures
It has the always impressive double tap to wake feature and the more interesting slide up to wake and hold power button to sleep feature. That's kinda great and super innovative to help your physical power button away from abuse and make it last longer.
That FlyMe OS is sooo neat! I'm craving to explore it more. :) |

Based on the brief time we've spent with the MX4, I can honestly say that it is one of the best I've seen so far. The computing power is jaw-dropping, the camera is great, the build is on a flagship level and the display is beautiful. The FlyMe OS used here is also very sleek looking, promising, easy to use and have a lot of good features. Hopefully, we can have a review unit to get a deeper look with Meizu MX4 soon as possible.
