Recently, Ostry KC06a made a lot of noise in the internet and the head-fi scene. Actually, they're hyped to be better than most IEMS in their price point and beyond. In addition to the hype, there's someone that's saying that its even better than the highly regarded Westone UM3X! Honesty, are very lucky to have had a chance to unbox one so here's our impressions. :)

Just like most Chinese brands, Ostry KC06a presents an abundant number of freebies from earhooks, different sizes of ear-tips, shirt clip and a carrying pouch. Ostry KC06a is also one of the rare IEMS that caters giving out an ear-tip with a filter for different sound tuning.
From my very brief listen, I can honestly say that this is one of the most natural sounding set I've heard regardless of price. Amazingly, it was the STAR of the day during our mini Headphiles meet last Saturday at Coffee Bean Trinoma. This rare GEM is a really good all rounder, I tried Lindsey Stirling's - Shatter Me and it just took the song into a completely new level which I can actually feel the emotion of the song!
Its treble sparkles amazingly, really non fatiguing, presented at a very high level and is really smooth! The mids have that very full feeling which is really engaging which makes it addictive. Its lows have that lovely kick and extension especially when needed. The instrumental separation is also amazing for a dynamic driver which rivals and even beat some of the armature models. For the soundstage its not the widest I've heard, but is a surefire performer! Overall, I have no complaints with its sound as an all rounder set, unless you prefer super analytical sets which is not necessary to my ears.
Design-wise, KC06a looks like the combination of ASUS ROG and Steelseries! Haha I actually thought that this is a gaming IEM. I actually loved its design as I am a fan of gaming sets! What's amazing with this is it maintained the audiophile feel with its TPU cables that looks very much like the cables of GR07BE!
In the comfort department, usually I'm not a fan of shallow insertion, but this set nailed just the right comfort for my ears! That could be due to its small body for an over-ear set, however because of that shallow insertion isolation is below average. Not a big issue though. :)

Is absolutely FANTASTIC! The IEM's housing is made out of really well machined sturdy looking metal alloy. The cables looks like a tad thinner version of the highly durable VSonic GR07 with a little more flexibility and plasticky feel. The strain reliefs is also fairly flexible and the plug is gold plated. Honestly, this is one of the best built IEM I've seen in this price point, better than VSonic's build and rivals most Dunu IEMS in terms of that really tough feel!

As of the moment
You'll definitely get TOP-TIER sound at a LOW-MID price range. The listening experience is excellent and ultra unexpected! From my short time with KC06a I can declare to myself that this is the current KING of all IEM under 5k! Everybody should consider getting this one instead of Honestly, liked it better than all of the IEMS in our Headphiles meetup which includes the line up of VSonic GR07BE, VSonic VSD3, Xiaomi Pistons 2.0, Havi B3, Dunu 900 / 1000 and more. I highly recommend this to everyone and I assure you that you cannot go wrong with it especially for the asking price and beyond!
Now that its not in my hands, I'm badly missing it. :(
