I know you guys probably watched either Masked Rider and Power Rangers when you were a kid, but are you guys aware of a late night live action drama which instead of spandex wearing super heroes you get to see guys in big shiny armors?
The series is a late night drama which is due to the some violence and slight nudity in the show. It is more catered to a more mature audience of the tokusatsu(live-action film or tv series having lots of special effects) shows.
In the first and second season we follow the life of Kouga Saezima who inherited the title of Garo from his father. Garo is a golden knight and said to be the strongest knight who slays horrors. Horrors are beings from the Makai(demon) world, which are attracted to the darkness in the hearts of men. Horrors can possess humans which makes the possessed human into a horror.
The duty of a Makai Knight like Garo is to prevent the horrors from possessing humans and slaying the horrors themselves.
Aside from the knights, there are others that help in defeating the horrors. One of them are the Makai priests, instead of having armors to fight horrors, they use spells to destroy them. They are also the ones who first fought with the horrors. When the Makai Knights were formed, they continue to help by providing support to the knights.
The watchdogs are the ones giving the Makai Knights their orders from the Makai order in a form of a letter. They are placed in a district to direct the knight/s in that district.
There are other Makai Knights aside from Garo, and some of them are knights having no titles.
